policies & procedures

At SKIN by Lauren, our priority is to provide safe, ethical, and results-driven treatments in a professional and welcoming environment. To ensure the highest standard of care and a smooth experience for every patient, we have established the following polices. 


These guidelines are designed to support clear communication, clinical safety, and mutual respect between practitioner and patient. As a medical aesthetics clinic, all treatments are performed with a strong focus on patient education, informed consent, and individualised treatment planning.


We kindly ask that all patients familiarise themselves with our policies prior to their appointment. This allows us to maintain efficiency, uphold clinical standards, and deliver the best possible outcomes tailored to each patient.


By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to our clinic policies, including consultation requirements, treatment suitability, cancellation terms, and aftercare responsibilities.


We appreciate your understanding and thank you for trusting SKIN by Lauren with your aesthetic journey.


1. Consultation Requirements & Treatment Suitability 


  • All treatments require a mandatory consultation prior to your first appointment
  • During the consultation we will:
  • Review your medical history and any contraindications
  • Discuss your concerns and treatment goals
  • Assess your suitability for the recommended treatments
  • Explain potential risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
  • Treatments will only proceed if clinically appropriate and safe for your individual needs..


2. Booking Deposits


  • A Booking deposit is required to secure your appointment
  • Deposit amounts vary depending on the treatment type 
  • Standard appointments require a $50 deposit at time of booking
  • Larger or more complex bookings require a $200 deposit
  • Deposits are non-refundable, but can be applied to a rescheduled appointment if cancellation notice is provided in accordance with our cancellation policy.
  • Deposits help us manage our schedule and ensure availability for all patients.


3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy


  • We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Cancellations or rescheduled appointments within less than the required notice may result in loss of deposit or treatment fees. 
  • Late arrivals may result in reduced treatment time or rescheduling.
  • If you are more the 10 minutes late to a 30 minute or less appointment
  • if you are more then20 minutes late to an hour or more appointment 
  • We understand life happens - please contact us as soon as possible if you need to adjust your booking.  


4. Aftercare Responsibilities 


Your role in aftercare is vital for achieving the best results:


  • Follow all written aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner.
  • Avoid activities that may compromise results. This includes excessive sun, heat, strenuous exercise and any other instructions given verbally for the recommended time.
  • Notify us immediately if you experience unexpected reactions or concerns.
  • Attend all follow-up appointments as recommended.


5. Product Refund & Exchange Policy


At SKIN by Lauren, we carefully select professional skin care products to support your treatment outcomes and skin health.


Due to hygiene and safety standards, we do not offer refunds for change of mind.


Professional skincare is recommended based on skin assessment however, results and individual tolerance may vary between individuals.r


Exchanges


If a product has been purchased in error, an exchange may be offered for an alternative product provided the product is unopened, unused, and returned within 7 days of purchase with proof of purchase.


Opened or used products cannot be returned or exchanged.


Allergic Reactions & Skin Sensitivity 


Skin Sensitivity


We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect product use or individual skin reactions, including irritation and sensitivity.


Allergic Reactions


If you experience a reaction to a product:


  • Discontinue use immediately 
  • Contact the clinic 
  • provide photos and details of the reaction.


Reactions will be assessed on a case by case basis and may be be eligible for product exchange or clinic credit.


Refunds 


All products are non-refundable unless they are faulty, contaminated, or incorrectly supplied


Refunds for faulty products will be provided promptly once the issue is verified. Verification may require liaising with suppliers. Please allow 14 days for this process to be completed.


Please note: Allergic reactions, skin sensitivities, or minor irritation do not qualify for a refund.


Please note that individual skin sensitivities do not indicate a faulty product.


6. General Clinic Policies


  • All treatments are pending medical consultation and will be tailored to individual needs.
  • Payment is required at the time of treatment, including and balance after deposit.
  • Results vary depending on individual factors, including skin type, lifestyle, and treatment plan adherence.
  • We reserve the right to refuse treatment if it is deemed unsafe or unsuitable.


Faulty or Defective Products 


If a product is found to be faulty, defective, or unsafe, we will provide a replacement, exchange or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
